Let’s have some fun putting together a recording and video of the great musicians who study at Chapin Jazz Studio.

Below, you’ll find multiple sets of recordings to help you…

  • Listen and practice your part over Sections A-C
  • Record your part over Sections A-C
  • Practice and record a solo over sections D-F

Practice and Playalong Tracks: Sections A-C (the head)

Listen and play along with these tracks to learn your part.

The first track includes all instruments, followed by tracks with a specific instrument’s volume at a higher level.

Choose your instrument name to learn and rehearse your part. Guitar and flute can use the “Melody” track. Any Bb instrument can use the Tenor Sax track.

Recording/Performance Tracks: Sections A-C (the head) (use these when recording)

Use the track labeled with your instrument while you record yourself for the music video.

Your instrument is muted on these tracks leaving room for your to play your part. Guitar and flute can use the “Melody” track. Any Bb instrument can use the Tenor Sax track.

 

Solo Practice Tracks (slower tempo): Sections D-F

Listen and play along with these tracks to practice solo sections D-E-F. You’ll hear 8 beats of count-in.

The first track includes piano comping with bass and drums.

The second track is bass and drums only for pianists who want to comp while they solo.
